The Greenhouse Kitchen, located within Blackdown Garden Centre, is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Catering Assistant to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy café environment, delivering great customer service, and being part of a supportive team. The role offers daytime working hours with no evening shifts and a varied range of responsibilities.
Position Details
- Job Title: Catering Assistant
- Location: The Greenhouse Kitchen, Blackdown Garden Centre
- Hours: 28 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays as required
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Working Hours: Daytime shifts only
Key Responsibilities
As a Catering Assistant, your duties will include:
- Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Serving food, drinks, and light refreshments
- Preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, including barista-style coffees
- Operating tills and handling customer payments
- Maintaining high standards of customer service at all times
- Assisting with food preparation and presentation as required
- Clearing and cleaning tables promptly
- Replenishing stock and ensuring displays remain well presented
- Following food hygiene, health and safety, and company procedures
- Supporting colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Undertaking general catering and housekeeping duties as required

- Previous café, catering, hospitality, or barista experience is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided
