Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Team Leader to oversee operations during the overnight shift within a care home specialising in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience supervising staff, and a compassionate approach to providing high-quality care. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, ensure smooth night-time operations, and uphold the organisation’s standards of care and safety. The Night Team Leader will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring compliance with care plans, and maintaining effective communication across all levels of the team.
Duties
- Supervise and support night staff to ensure the delivery of excellent care to residents in accordance with individual care plans
- Coordinate activities and tasks for the night shift, ensuring all duties are completed efficiently and safely
- Oversee medication administration and record keeping in line with regulatory standards
- Lead on safeguarding procedures, responding promptly to any concerns or incidents during the night shift
- Maintain clear communication with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing throughout the night, responding appropriately to any emergencies or health issues
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, health and safety regulations, and confidentiality requirements
- Assist with training and mentoring new or junior staff members to promote professional development
- Utilise IT systems effectively for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a care environment, preferably in senior or specialised care settings
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with staff, residents, families, and external professionals
- Experience working with care plans and understanding of individualised resident needs
- Good IT literacy skills for documentation and report management
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and regulatory compliance within adult social care environments
- Compassionate attitude combined with organisational ability to manage overnight operations efficiently
Pay: From £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 36.0 per week
