Septic & Grease Pumping Technician Position Summary
The Septic & Grease Pumping Technician is responsible for operating vacuum trucks and related equipment to pump, transport, and dispose of septic waste and grease trap waste. This position requires safe vehicle operation, strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSeptic Services
- Pump and clean residential and commercial septic tanks or grease traps.
- Locate and access septic tank lids and risers
- Complete service reports and customer documentation.
- Ensure proper disposal of collected waste at approved facilities
Vehicle & Equipment Operation
- Safely operate vacuum trucks and pumping equipment.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and service records.
- Clean and maintain trucks, hoses, pumps, and equipment.
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Class B or A CDL
- Tanker endorsement
- No Manual restriction
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily routes.
- Previous septic, grease trap, plumbing, wastewater, or vacuum truck experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pull and maneuver vacuum hoses.
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work around equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Typical Pay Range: $25–$30+ per hour depending on CDL status, endorsements, experience, and performance.
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
