Summer Childcare Teacher Jobs in Gig Harbor, WA at Gig Harbor Academy
Gig Harbor Academy is seeking enthusiastic, positive individuals who love working with children for a Summer Childcare Teacher position. This is a Summer-only position, with the possibility for continued employment after depending on needs, working with students aged 4-10, providing children with fun, age appropriate and stimulating activities in the classroom and on our beautiful nature campus.
Start date – June 29th – August 21st, 2026
Monday – Friday, 11:00 am – 5:30 pm
Primary Duties
- Cultivate positive relationships with children and utilize GHA-approved positive behavior guidance.
- Work closely with Director and other teachers for activity planning and implementation.
- Maintain a safe, clean learning environment.
- Willing to spend most of the day outdoors in all weather.
- Actively supervise students at proper ratios on the playground and in the classroom, always keeping children in visual range.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- Current DCYF background check.
- Early Childhood Training or college credits (preferred)
- Experience working with young children.
- Current CPR/1st Aid/BBP/AED certified
- MMR immunization
- Negative TB test

Pay: $17.50 per hour
